Toof Announces Run for House

ST. ALBANS - Casey Toof, St. Albans Town, announced today that he will be a candidate for the Franklin 3-1 Vermont House of Representatives District. The Franklin 3-1 District includes all of St. Albans City and the Southeastern Tier of St. Albans Town.

“I am excited about the opportunity this campaign offers to meet more of my neighbors and talk about how we can make St. Albans a better, more affordable place for all to live, work and raise a family. I grew up in St. Albans City and me and my wife have decided to raise our family here because we know how great this community is and what its potential can be,” Toof said.

Toof says his campaign will focus on making Vermont more affordable, growing our economy through workforce development, and continuing to combat our communities’ opiate epidemic.

“I’ve seen too many friends and family members leave Vermont due to a lack of economic opportunity and not being able to afford Vermont.”

Toof also pledged his support to the ongoing battle against prescription drug abuse. “While Vermont continues to struggle with the unfortunate effects of prescription drug abuse, I believe that our community has been a leader in recognizing and addressing this serious problem. I will work across party lines to continue our progress.”

Toof’s candidacy has already received the support of local legislative leaders.

Rep. Corey Parent (R-St. Albans Town, Franklin 3-1) “I’m proud to support Casey Toof in his candidacy for State Representative. I know he will be a great voice for our community, because he understands our community – who we are and who we want to be.” Parent said. “Casey will be a champion for lower taxes, sustainable spending and economic development in Montpelier.”

Casey Toof, 32, was born and raised in St. Albans City. He attended St. Albans City Elementary School, BFA, and Castleton University in Castleton, VT where he earned a degree in History and Secondary Education. Toof is also a member of the St. Albans Town Planning Commission and has coached numerous youth sports in the area. Casey and his wife Ashley reside on Clyde Allen Drive with their sons Callan, and Lukas.
